Kapitana

Dimitar Ivanov, known as “Kapitana,” is a Bulgarian ventriloquist, stand-up comedian, actor, and playwright. In 2019, he gained recognition on the popular TV Show “Slavi’s Show” with a comedic skit featuring his puppet, Bai Tanyo. His performance impressed host Slavi Trifonov, who offered to fully fund Dimitar’s ventriloquism training abroad. Under the guidance of top American and Slovak ventriloquists, Dimitar honed his lip-sync technique.

That same year, Dimitar and Bai Tanyo launched their debut stand-up show, Beshe mi 100lichno, touring 20 Bulgarian cities. In 2020, they introduced a new show, Obraztsov dom, which solidified Dimitar’s reputation in stand-up comedy. The tour spanned 24 cities and featured a new puppet, Isteriya Petrova, a satirical take on a Bulgarian state official. The show’s success was amplified by their strong social media presence.

In 2021, Dimitar competed in Bulgaria’s inaugural Golden Microphone stand-up comedy awards, winning the audience award and earning podium placements in the guild and jury categories. In 2024, Kapitana completed an international tour including over 30 dates in Bulgaria, Germany, and the UK.

Expect live piano, soulful vocals, unforgettable tunes and laugh-out-loud comedy – all delivered by world-class cabaret performers. A dynamic fusion of music, comedy, and dance, Blues and Burlesque is the ultimate live entertainment experience.

THE WOO DEMONS & KINDRED SPIRIT BAND
Feb
15

THE WOO DEMONS & KINDRED SPIRIT BAND

THE WOOD DEMONS are a UK-based band with a growing reputation for writing powerful, melodic songs influenced by a wide range of genres – from progressive rock to folk, ambient, classical, film music and psychedelia. With electric violin and mellotron sounds lending an epic sweep, and memorable vocal and guitar melodies propelled by a supple powerful rhythm section this band creates a distinctive soundworld.

Formed by bassist John Silver and multi-instrumentalist Rick Startin, they were soon joined by guitarist and vocalist Simon Carbery, and later violinist Naomi Belshaw and drummer Ed Kontargyris. The band released their debut recording ‘The Lost Domain’ in 2017. This was followed in 2020 by their well received full-length album ‘Angels of Peckham Rye’.

Also acclaimed for their live performances, The Wood Demons have played Glastonbury, Fusion, Prog For Peart, Minety, Vannfest, Onboard The Craft, Tewkesbury Medieval festivals, and Soundle, London venues The Fiddler’s Elbow, The Bedford,The Camden Club, and the 1865 in Southampton.

In 2025 the band released their second full-length album ‘In Rabbits & Corners’, to glowing reviews, and are looking forward to playing it in London for the first time!

“The Wood Demons have produced a marvellous album with In Rabbits & Corners. It has not only built upon the quality of Angels of Peckham Rye but has raised the bar even higher. The progressive and psychedelic style of their music has been enhanced, whilst not losing their unique merging of folk, classic and art rock elements. This is a mature and coherent work of dazzling musicianship, lyrical depth, a cinematic scope and beautifully crafted songs that engage you fully in a truly holistic way. The band have really found their voice with this album – with compositions both simple and accessible, and yet wonderfully complex and challenging as well. Highly recommended!” (David Edwards, The Progressive Aspect)

KINDRED SPIRIT BAND have a unique take on the Prog Folk Rock genre, weaving electric guitar and flute/saxophone with ‘perceptive and intriguing’ songwriting, driving rhythms and ‘haunting and bewitching’ female vocals. Their sound has been likened to Renaissance, Fleetwood Mac, Jethro Tull, and the Moody Blues. Prog Rock and Prog Metal Zine described their band sound as ‘One of the best folk rock acts in activity in the UK’.

Band founder and driving force, Elaine Samuels, began performing solo in folk clubs at the age of only 13, getting a mention in the local press as ‘one to watch’! She has featured on television, radio and at countless festivals and venues up and down the country. Rosie Upton (Bath Evening Chronicle) tells us ‘Elaine has a voice which can be both hauntingly beautiful & deeply emotional...it is her rich repertoire of perceptive, intriguing self-penned songs combined with her guitar work which sets her apart’.

Elaine evolved the full Kindred Spirit Band, performing notably at Guildford and Glastonbury Festivals and Liverpool's famous Cavern Club. Their most recent album Elemental is attracting attention while acclaim for their previous album Phoenix Rising led to international album distribution and a feature in

Prog Magazine, Rachel Mann describing their sound as ‘Folk rock meets

classical with a scientific edge’.

Kindred Spirit Band are currently Elaine Samuels (vocals/acoustic and electric guitar), Piers Hogg (electric guitar), Keith Buckman (bass guitar and bvs), Stevie Mitchell (flute, sax, and bvs), and Paul Austin (drums & percussion). This post lockdown line-up has already performed to acclaim at A New Day Festival, Danfest, Prog the Forest, Cambridge Rock Festival, Wokingham Festival, Carshalton Eco Festival, and The Soundle Weekend.

Following the success of their 2023 EP Mechanophobia, Kindred Spirit Band’s double concept album The Journey Within was released in 2025.

THE CAMDEN CLUB is one of London's newest and most exciting venues (opposite The Roundhouse in Camden/Chalk Farm). Cabaret-style seating with gourmet burger menu available - please support the venue by buying food and drinks as this keeps venue hire prices down, enabling bands to play here. Tables are unreserved; get here early for the best in the house!

Entrance is via a flight of steps up from street level and then a flight of steps down to floor level. Please contact the organisers if you need to use the accessible (fewer steps) entrance.

🎹 Monty Oxymoron – Live at The Camden Club

Sunday 22 February 2026

A very special afternoon awaits at The Camden Club as Monty Oxymoron, the irrepressible keyboard maestro of The Damned, steps out for an intimate solo performance built around his brand-new album, The Piano Plays Til Midnight — a collection of beautiful, atmospheric piano renditions of classic Damned songs.

If you’re a Damned fan, this one’s practically made for you.

🌟 About Monty Oxymoron

Since joining The Damned in 1996, Monty has been one of the band’s beating hearts — exuberant, unpredictable, endlessly creative. His flamboyant performance style has lit up stages around the world, and his contributions to albums like Grave Disorder, Evil Spirits, Darkadelic and their new album of cover versions, Not Like Everybody Else have cemented his place in the band’s long, genre-shifting history.

But Monty’s musical world stretches far beyond punk’s boundaries. A multi-instrumentalist, composer and experimentalist, he’s spent decades diving into psychedelic textures, cinematic ambience and off-the-wall improvisation.

With The Piano Plays Til Midnight, he’s done something fans have quietly dreamt of for years: he’s taken the emotional core of The Damned’s music and reimagined it at the piano — tender, haunting, dramatic and unexpectedly elegant.

And at The Camden Club, he’ll be performing the album in full.

Expect:

  • Piano interpretations of Damned favourites, from the iconic to the deep cuts

  • Monty’s trademark humour and storytelling, including tales from life inside one of Britain’s most influential bands

  • A warm, theatrical, slightly surreal evening… because it wouldn’t be Monty otherwise

Sloana Square Band

From France, SSB - SLOANE SQUARE BAND, led by guitarist, singer, and composer Claude Segalin, has its roots in the 1970s under the name SLOANE. The band made waves with their neo-progressive rock sound, reminiscent of Pink Floyd, and continues to evolve with powerful new compositions. After a 40-year hiatus, Segalin revived the band with fresh material and a lineup of talented musicians. Their latest album, Thoughts, features notable contributions from Guy Pratt (Pink Floyd), Joniece Jamison (Eurythmics), and Richard Groulx (Starmania).
SSB’s stop at the Camden Club is part of their Thoughts tour, a testament to the enduring spirit of rock and Segalin’s personal journey:
"When I was young and studying in London, I was captivated by British rock. Today, I’m incredibly proud to return and play my own music on the same paths that once inspired me – it’s a dream come true," says Segalin.

JOHN MITCHELL is a multi-instrumentalist and member of Arena, Frost*, and It Bites, among others, and releases solo music under the pseudonym Lonely Robot. John also masterminded the bands Kino and The Urbane and played bass for alternative rock band A. He performed live with the likes of John Wetton (Asia) and Martin Barre (Jethro Tull) to name a few. John is also a record producer and sound engineer at Outhouse Studios, his own recording studio in Reading, UK, where he has recorded and produced music for a number of mainstream rock artists including Enter Shikari, You Me At Six, Steven Wilson, Don Broco, Architects, Funeral for a Friend, and many more.
Performing today as a duo with guitarist Jez Fielder, their intertwining guitars and vocal harmonies create a captivating acoustic experience, blending heartfelt stories, powerful melodies, and moments of light-hearted banter. Last year’s sold-out show at the Camden Club earned rave reviews, and they’re back to captivate audiences once more!

SAMMY ANGELO

SHARING HIS NEW SINGLE ‘SLEEP’

‍ ‍

Sammy Angelo is a 24-year-old up-and-coming artist from St Albans. Infatuated with music from a youthful age, he began to explore various genres and artists. Sammy debuted his music career with his single “Love Me No More” featuring JLS star Oritsé Williams, reaching its first play on Kiss Xtra. Sammy continued collaborating and has worked with the artists such as Ayo Beatz, S1mba, Geko and A7s.

With his new track ‘Sleep’ he has collaborated with A7s and Ayo Beatz to create a dance, afrohouse record that brings a party, yet vulnerable feel to get people resonating with his words, whilst getting lost with in the music. The dark moody piano chords provide the foundation to allow the the textures of both the vocals and the synth to complement each other. Whilst being taken on this journey of movement with the percussion and drums.

SAMMY says, ’Sleep’ is a lyrically driven song, despite the music being in the forefront, if you process the words you will see how it is an underlying romantic tragedy. Especially in the second verse, there is this almost stalemate in wether to trust and love and that concept of if love is unrequited or genuine.

The Mighty Heartache Live Feat. Lost Chimes & Chlöe Wilson

3 great acts get together for an evening of all-star entertainment.

The Mighty Heartache

Rock'n'roll with the swagger and heart of the 70s, the spirit of the 60’s, and a dollop of country and rockabilly. Words to make you think, maybe an occasional tear, and a beat to get your feet a dancin’.

Think Elvis C meets Elvis P with the energy of the Clash, the raunch of The Stones, all filtered through in Nashville and dropped into the heart of the Finchley Delta.

The set will include a mix of old favourites along with new tracks from our recently released EP Love's Ancient Song (Sept 2025).

Chlöe Wilson

Independent singer-songwriter Chlöe Wilson brings a bold new voice to the UK music scene. Her sound is timeless yet modern, blending raw storytelling with sweeping melodies and a striking vocal presence.

Her songs unravel the chaos of heartbreak, love, and self-discovery with honesty and intensity, creating music that feels nostalgic and contemporary. With each release, she crafts a world that is emotive, powerful, and unafraid to feel every feeling.

Songs from her debut EP All My Feelings Falling Out (October 2025), will feature tonight’s set.

Lost Chimes

Lost Chimes are Gemma and Nicky Kirk. They are renowned for Gemma’s “sublime voice”, Nicky’s intricate guitar work, sophisticated songwriting, and their spine-tingling live sound. They have received accolades for several live performances on BBC Radio and other radio stations.

In 2021 their self-titled debut gained them many plaudits for the band’s haunting cover of Joy Division’s ‘Love will tear us apart’ and standout single, ‘Island’.

Their 2025 album ‘Now I Swim’ is a deeply personal record exploring ancestry, trauma and identity. Shades of 70s rock abound, drawing comparisons with Sandy Denny, Maddy Prior and Steely Dan.

An Evening with Morgan Fisher - live in London

You are welcome to join Morgan Fisher for an evening of songs and stories from his amazing and varied career.

From 1968, Morgan played organ with The Love Affair (#1 hit in U.K. Everlasting Love and four Top 20 hits before disbanding in 1971). In 1972 he formed the progressive rock band Morgan with Tim Staffell (previously the singer of Smile, who soon became Queen).

In 1973 he joined the Third Ear Band for a brief period (an avant-garde band who made the music for Roman Polanski's film of Macbeth) and then joined Mott the Hoople, who had recently been produced by David Bowie and had a U.K. hit with All the Young Dudes, plus several more top ten hits. They were the first rock band to perform for a week on Broadway. He continued on keyboards as the band morphed into Mott, then British Lions (with John Fiddler of Medicine Head).

After British Lions, Morgan was an in-demand guest keyboardist for many artists including Hanoi Rocks, Slaughter & the Dogs, Wayne County & the Electric Chairs, The Dead Kennedys, and Mike Harrison (Spooky Tooth).

Inspired by the DIY spirit of punk, he set up Pipe Music, an indie studio and record label.

He released Slow Music (ambient album), Hybrid Kids (art-punk album) and Miniatures (a groundbreaking collection of 51 one-minute tracks by Robert Fripp, Robert Wyatt, Michael Nyman, Gavin Bryars, members of The Flying Lizards, The Pretenders, XTC, Penguin Cafe Orchestra, The Damned and other artists).

In 1982 Morgan played keyboards with Queen on their Hot Space tour.

In 1985 he moved to Japan (where he still lives) and set up The Handmade Studio, where he recorded ambient albums and music for art videos, films and television. He gave many solo performances at major expos, galleries, museums, and sessions with numerous Japanese bands and artists from underground to rock superstars.

In 1990, he recorded the album Echoes of Lennon with guest Yoko Ono.

He recorded Relax, Refresh and Recharge, and created the soundtrack for the animated film The Apfel Land Story. He performed music from Twin Peaks with Haruomi Hosono (of Yellow Magic Orchestra) and Julee Cruise (who sang on the original Twin Peakssoundtrack), and Morgan wrote and performed world music for the Nicole fashion company in Paris and Tokyo. He also undertook tours of China and Brazil with Japanese bands.

In 1994 he played at the Mick Ronson Memorial Concert at Hammersmith Odeon, with Ian Hunter, Roger Taylor, Roger Daltrey, Big Audio Dynamite, Glen Matlock, Bill Wyman, and many others.

In 1996 he produced Moth Poet Hotel, a Mott the Hoople tribute album with major Japanese bands such as Yellow Monkey, Heat Wave, High Lows, plus Brian May.

Between 1999 and 2024, he recorded with The Minus 5 (REM spin-off group featuring their guitarist Peter Buck).

Since 2003, he has presented his regular Morgan's Organ concerts in Tokyo, which have included artists such as Jane Siberry, Terry Riley and Richard Strange.

In 2018 and 2019, he played on the Mott the Hoople '74 reunion tours in UK, USA, Spain and Sweden.

Last year he performed a solo version of The Hoople album in both London and Tokyo, and played at the Neil Innes Memorial Concert with members of The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band, The Ruttles and Monty Python.
